How long will my appointment take?
Appointment duration depends on your individual needs. Initial assessments typically run 30-45 minutes to allow for a thorough evaluation, while subsequent treatments are usually around 30 minutes.
How many appointments do I need?
The number of sessions required varies based on your specific condition and how your body responds to treatment. During your initial visit, your therapist will assess your situation and provide a recommended treatment plan. Many patients notice positive changes after their very first appointment.
Do I need a doctor's referral?
A doctor's referral is not required to book physiotherapy or massage therapy at our clinic. However, certain extended health plans may require one for reimbursement purposes. If you have any relevant medical imaging or physician notes, please bring them along as they can be valuable for your assessment.
What is your cancellation policy?
We kindly request at least 24 hours notice if you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours notice will incur a $35 service fee.

What should I wear?
Dress in loose, comfortable attire that allows for movement and access to the treatment area. Shorts work well for leg or hip concerns, while a tank top or sports bra is ideal for upper body issues. Private changing space is available if you need it.

Jackson graduated from the University of British Columbia, where he earned both his Master’s in Physical Therapy and Bachelor of Science.

Since graduating, he has continued to develop professionally through post-graduate courses and mentorship. Most notably, Jackson has completed an additional 3 years of training at the Canadian College of Osteopathy, where he is working towards his Diploma in Osteopathic Manual Practice. In addition, Jackson is certified to practice medical acupuncture and Gunn IMS.

Prior to Physiolab, Jackson had worked in various private clinics in Vancouver, Burnaby, South Surrey, and Port Moody. Jackson’s treatment approach is patient specific and focused around the patient’s goals. He utilizes manual therapy, dry needling, exercise prescription, and client education to help patients return to sports or daily activities. While Jackson enjoys all aspects of physiotherapy, he has a special interest in treating TMJ dysfunction, headaches, neck pain, back pain, and sports injuries. Jackson also has experience with various sports teams in the community, most recently acting as team physiotherapist to the Thunder Club Volleyball under-18 team.

Kenneth Lo

Kenneth is a graduate in Masters of Physical Therapy at University of British Columbia, and previously earned a Bachelor of Science at University of Toronto with honors.

Prior to Physiolab, Ken gained valuable experience working in Port Coquitlam and South Surrey. Kenneth is a fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Therapy (FCAMPT) which is an internationally recognized qualification for further manual therapy education. He is also certified to practice dry needling from Chan Gunn Intramsucluar Stimulation (CGIMS), Acupuncture (CAFCI), and has completed several courses in the McKenzie method of mechanical diagnosis for lower back and neck.

Kenneth has a passion for treating a variety of conditions and injuries including sports injuries, motor vehicle injuries, and work related injuries. He believes that many overuse injuries stem from biomechanical faults, and that once the dysfunction is treated through physiotherapy (manual therapy, exercise, IMS), it can relieve symptoms and pain. Also, treating the dysfunction can prevent one from further injuries and lead to a healthier lifestyle.

Kenneth has volunteered in numerous sporting events including the 2012 BC summer games, 2013 BC Special Olympics, 2014 Burnaby Tennis Open, and also for the Earl Marriott School football.

Outside the clinic, Kenneth is usually at the gym weightlifting, playing soccer, tennis, or golf. He is playing in a few basketball leagues and the summer softball league. Depending on the season, Kenneth likes to be outdoors hiking, camping, or snowboarding in the mountains of beautiful BC!

Courtney is a physiotherapist with a Master’s degree from the University of Sydney and a Bachelor’s from the University of British Columbia.

A Vancouver native, Courtney started her journey in rehabilitation as a kinesiologist, guiding her clients to move better. She has practiced in both acute medical and private outpatient settings, treating a variety of conditions including musculoskeletal injuries, post-stroke, traumatic brain injuries, and post-surgical care.

Courtney uses a unique combination of clinical Pilates and manual therapy to treat a range of conditions. She is also a graduate of the ConnectTherapy™ 3-Part Series and Thoracic Ring Approach™, and incorporates this process to look at each person as a whole to assess for the root cause of the problem. Courtney believes in a biopsychosocial model, which means empowering her clients to understand all the factors that can impact their road to recovery.

In her free time, you’ll usually find Courtney outdoors in the sun, whether it’s hiking or walking the seawall. When it’s cold out, she loves to try new dance classes and volunteer as an adaptive ski instructor.

Kendall Segin completed her Masters of Physical Therapy at UBC in 2015. Prior to this, she received her Bachelors of Science with Honours in Kinesiology at UVIC.

Kendall’s interest in Physiotherapy began when she had a dance related injury growing up. This sparked her interest in human anatomy and movement patterns. Through her own rehab, she developed an understanding of how beneficial patient education and corrective exercise can be.

As a therapist, Kendall believes in a one-on-one treatment approach, with individualized treatment programs tailored to the client. Her therapy style includes a mix of manual therapy and therapeutic exercise, including Pilates. While Kendall enjoys working with all populations, she has a special interest in dancers, gymnasts, and those with increased mobility. Kendall strives to further her practice with continuing education and collaboration with colleagues.

For a number of years, Kendall utilized her Kinesiology training to volunteer with a rugby team as an athletic trainer. Through this, she had the opportunity to develop quick on-field assessment and treatment techniques. In addition, she developed a great appreciation for the importance of injury prevention for athletes.

Kendall’s appreciation for movement began at an early age, and she was a competitive dancer for 15 years. She still enjoys doing jazz, ballet, contemporary and tap. Outside of dance, she enjoys pilates, hiking, scuba diving, travelling and cooking.

Originally from Kelowna, Rupy completed her Bachelors of Kinesiology at the University of British Columbia Okanagan.

She moved to the big city of Vancouver to further her education at the University of British Columbia to obtain her Masters of Physical Therapy. Rupy has her Orthopaedic Division Level 1 Certification from the Canadian Physiotherapy Association and her Calibrate Clinical Pilates Training.

Rupy’s journey in this career started with seeing people around her suffer from chronic injuries and pain and she always wanted to be able to help them, but with a client-centred approach. That being said, Rupy enjoys collaborating with clients on their health journey to help build autonomy and confidence.

Carrie Viola

Carrie Viola’s first experience with physiotherapy came at a young age after suffering a series of sport-related knee injuries, requiring both surgery and rehabilitation.

Her past experiences combined with her extensive academic training help clients and athletes restore function, minimize re-injury and optimize performance safely, and effectively.

Carrie graduated from McMaster University in 2006 with a Masters degree in Physiotherapy after obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Human Kinetics from the University of Guelph. She has post-graduate training with the Orthopaedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association, obtaining her Certificate of Manual and Manipulative Therapy, and is certified in Chan Gunn IMS (CG*IMS) through the Institute for the Study and Treatment of Pain (iSTOP). Curran recently completed his Doctor of Physiotherapy at Bond University in Australia.

He brings an evidence-based approach to care, grounded in both academic training and hands-on clinical experience.

His passion for physiotherapy was sparked during his early years as a badminton player and further developed through his undergraduate studies in Kinesiology. After navigating his own rehab following a shoulder injury, Curran became committed to being the kind of physiotherapist who empowers patients through education, movement, and strength.

Curran is particularly passionate about incorporating strength training into physiotherapy for individuals of all backgrounds, from first-time gym-goers to seasoned athletes. He has a special interest in working with field sport athletes and badminton players. She began her career as a registered kinesiologist, working with clients of all ages and backgrounds — from varsity athletes to everyday movers — to help them achieve their rehabilitation goals.

With a strong foundation in orthopedic and sports rehabilitation, Kelly integrates manual therapy, movement-based therapy, and patient education to provide personalized, evidence-based care. She has a special interest in treating running and racquet sport–related injuries, and offers comprehensive running assessments to help runners improve performance and prevent injury. Kelly has also had the opportunity to work with elite athletes at the Toronto Waterfront Marathon and has treated retired Olympic runners.

Growing up competing in basketball and badminton, Kelly brings a deep understanding of athletic performance and the demands of returning to sport. In her free time, she enjoys playing sports, hiking and skiing.

Kurt is a graduate of the Massage Therapy program at the Vancouver College of Massage Therapy (VCMT).

He spent the last 9 years as a personal trainer and CrossFit Coach. His profound interest in the human body and movement began at a young age when he discovered how to change his body with weight training for football, hockey and lacrosse. He has competed at a high level in all these sports as well as competing at the CrossFit Games in 2014 and CrossFit regionals from 2013-2018.

During that time, he worked with a wide range of clientele ranging from elite national level athletes of multiple sports, to weight loss, to those with the goal of aspiring to get fit. He takes the same inclusive approach to working as a Massage Therapist and enjoys treating patients from all walks of life. Whether that be trying to recover from injuries sustained in a Motor Vehicle accident, Tight Shoulders from working at a desk or Chronic Knee pain in a competitive athlete.

Katerina is a graduate from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy.

She also has an Associate’s degree in Health Science from Langara College. Katerina has an extensive background as a former competitive dragon paddler and knows how to work with her clients to treat and relieve pain, prevent injury, and to achieve and maintain optimal function. She incorporates general Swedish, deep tissue, myofascial and joint mobilization techniques in her therapy. Eric graduated with honours from the 3000-hour Vancouver College of Massage Therapy Full-time program.

Through the school’s clinic internship and outreaches, Eric has acquired invaluable experience working with a variety of clients including office workers, SFU varsity athletes, spinal cord injury patients at ICORD, and even a professional CFL athlete. Eric also has a background in Kinesiology, with an undergraduate degree from the University of British Columbia.

Utilizing a wide array of techniques, encompassing Swedish relaxation techniques, deep tissue massage, myofascial release, joint mobilizations, and trigger point work, Eric tailors each session to the needs of every individual. Whether relieving muscular tension, alleviating pain, promoting mobility, or providing relaxation, Eric attends to the concerns of each of his clients.

Outside of work, Eric is a competitive powerlifter with a provincial championship gold medal, and a provincial deadlift record.

She continued her studies in Canada, completing the Naturopathic Doctor program, and is currently a Registered Acupuncturist licensed to practice in British Columbia.
